Capturing live events for real-time and historical analysis
The engineering challenge
Live-stream analytics must capture concurrent creator sessions, preserve events for later analysis and update viewers while sessions are still running. Ingestion and dashboard delivery have different lifecycles and capacity requirements.
Give ingestion its own lifecycle
Dedicated workers decouple capture from API releases. The cost is coordinating subscriptions, monitoring worker health and managing the event-delivery path between processes.

Ingestion and coordination
Dedicated listener processes capture live events. Worker registration, heartbeats and configurable capacity coordinate subscriptions across processes. Listener operation can be separated from API deployment.
Persistence and delivery
Events are persisted for historical analysis. WebSocket delivery supports Redis fan-out or a database-tail source, so the application can serve live views without making the browser responsible for collection.
Analytics and operations
Gift and diamond analytics, gifter leaderboards, PK-battle reporting and comment exports use the captured event stream. Worker controls, structured logs and request tracing support investigation and operation.
